It has officially begun! I have just had my first day in Paris! We left Denver last night, had a layover in London and then arrived in Paris around 5:30 pm. Needless to say it;s been a long day, but so worth it. I cannot believe that I get to live in my favorite city on Earth for the next nine months. I know time will fly by, so hoping this blog will help me make the most of it. We got to our hotel in the Bastille area (11 arrondissement) then went to dinner close by at Le bistro du peinture. I had the Poulet fermier, as did my dad bug surprise. I also got a delicious glass of Bourdeaux and remembered why I fell in love with wine. Yum! Then Mom and I walked to my apartment building, only about 10 minutes from our hotel, though my apartment is actually in Le Marais, the 4th arrondissement. I have lots of shops, cafes and bars close by and live just a few blocks from the Place de la Bastille and the Opera Bastille. Tomorrow, we will meet my landlord and move into my apartment! I am very excited to see the place and get my thing organized. After a few other errands involving banks and phones, I hope to explore the area more and find my nearest necessities: groceries, pharmacy, boulangerie and cute boutiques for clothes. I cannot wait to get to know my neighborhood a little better. After tomorrow, it's off to Switzerland for a little r&r with the parents. I'll continue to post updates and pictures as often as I can! Bon soir!
